Every now and again I find a piece of fabric that just creates itself in my mind... This is one of those pieces. Today, I finished up this shabby chic summer dress for a 3 to 6 month old little girl. I really like the light, airy feel of the fabric and the simple embroidered motif border at the hem. The medium pink and coral"y" orange design is accented nicely with the green leaves. The design was simple, the fabric just needed to be put together simply as well. A tiny bit of lace at the edge of the armhole ruffle and around the bloomer legs was all of the embellishment I did. I think this turned out real nice and it makes me think of "Shabby Chic" home decor.
I am a closet blogger. This is a place where I share musings from my day, things I wonder about, things I feel strongly about or things I just feel like talking about. Also, this is where I share new things I have created.

Family
We gather together with Family. Family is fun, loud, crazy, rambunctious, sedate, loving, teasing, tall tale telling, sharing, helping, talking, showing off, catching up, planning, eating, snacking, visiting, watching, chasing, playing, munching, noisy, helping, working, headache causing, cleaning, sitting, quiet, rocking, holding, learning, building, caring, enjoying, cooking, baking, hugging, nerve wracking, kissing, teaching... When we gather together as family the list is endless of things we do, are and become together. Small family or big family. Family is... everything.

Now Snow?
Snow,
someone said Snow 3 to 7 inches here and
I was like, "yeah, right".
But, it did snow...
there are little piles of it on top of the cars and not any on the ground.
So yes, we did get snow.
It may have come down as snow, but melted when it hit the ground. How do they measure snow which melts when it hits the ground?

It may have come down as snow, but melted when it hit the ground. How do they measure snow which melts when it hits the ground?
Do they have like a little freezer compartment that keeps the snow frozen till it is done snowing ..then they can measure it and say,
"yep, that was 4 1/2 inches of snow"?
or do they look at the melted snow and compute how much it would have been had it still been snow when it was measured?
And do big fluffy flakes of snow measure the same as little specks of snow?
I guess I just don't get snow.
I guess I just don't get snow.

Rain
I love Rain....
it is raining here today...
When it rains I want to put on a big pot of soup and
let it simmer all day.
Just grab a bowl and
let it warm you up.
Feed whoever walks through the door.
I love Rain....
it is raining here today....
When it rains I want to mix up a big batch of bread and
shape it into rolls and
bread and
yummy cinnamon rolls.
Let it smell up the whole house and
give it to everyone who is warming up with a big bowl of soup...
I love Rain...
it is raining here today...
When it rains I want to put on my flannel jammies and
snuggle up with a blanket and
lose myself in a fantastic book.
And be lazy and do nothing all day, but enjoy the rain...
Too bad my family doesn't like soup.

Written humor..
So here I am, wondering how I should go about "blogging"... Truly, this can be a completely interesting project. Or perhaps, not so very interesting. I wonder how long before my children stumble upon my ramblings and if any one even cares if I do ramble.
Something I have learned today....people who read something do not necessarily interpret what you have written in the spirit you have written it...
There are times when I write something which I feel is completely hilarious, however, someone else will think I am RUDE.
So how do authors write something hilarious and have the person reading it understand it IS hilarious? This is something to ponder. Golf clubs are not hilarious.
Go figure..
